The elementary enjoyed a performance of the Nutcracker performed by Youth Dance Ensemble, located in Burnsville, MN.
Their Nutcracker Story was an hour-long production based on the classical Nutcracker Ballet. It began with a Christmas party where Godfather Drosselmeyer brings Clara some very unusual gifts, one of which is a Nutcracker. The party ends quickly when Fritz, Clara’s brother, breaks the Nutcracker. Clara dreams of her Nutcracker that night and battle ensues between the Rat King, Clara, and The Nutcracker. Clara defeats the Rat King and his mice with the Nutcracker and Toy Soldiers by her side. Clara’s dream continues to the land of sweets where students watched Russian, Arabian, Yee-Sang, the Snow Waltz, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Mother Ginger.
