Open Enrollment
If you reside in the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District and desire to send your child(ren) to another school not in our district you will need to fill out an open enrollment application form. The application deadline is January 15 for the upcoming school year. This form must be sent to, and approved by, the serving school district where you desire your child(ren) to attend. Anytime a family moves (even if it is only one block) the deadline is waived and the student is eligible for open enrollment.
If you have missed the application deadline of January 15, and have not moved, you will need to fill out a non-resident agreement form that must be approved by both school districts. The application should be sent first to the resident school district who will need to approve the release. The resident school district will then send the form to the serving school district.
If you are enrolling your child(ren) in a non-public school you are exempt from all agreements between districts but should notify the resident school district that your child(ren) will be attending a non-public school.
If you are planning to home school please notify the school district office (507) 726-2323 so you can fill out the mandatory Compulsory Instruction Report.
