Degrees and Certifications:
Happy sunshining day!! I am originally from Worthington, MN and received my BS degree in Health and Physical Education from SDSU, Brookings SD. I taught part-time at John Ireland School in St. Peter and with the birth of my first child quit teaching. I stayed at home with my four kids for 13 years and then went back and started substitute teaching for 4 years. I have also coached in various capacities for the past 27+ years working with both boys and girls and multiple sports. This is my third year back in my own classroom and I am looking forward to teaching your child and watching their growth throughout the year.
We will focus much of our time and attention on the basic locomotor and manipulative movements ths year setting up a solid foundation of fundamentals. We will use a variety of individual activities as well as partner and team games to practice our skills. Throughout the year sportsmanship is a key focus; how we treat other people is crucial and something we talk about daily. We will also discuss healthy eating options since activity and healthy food choices go hand in hand.
Sunshine and fresh air are beneficial for all students so we will have class outside as much as possible; maybe even a couple times this winter! The more time you can spend playing with your child the better off they will be. Please contact me if you ever have any questions.
