    LCWM 2nd Grade Math Essential Learner Outcomes-What we want the kids to know by the end of 2nd grade:

    • I can read, write, and represent whole numbers up to 1000.

    • I can use place value to describe whole numbers between 10 and 1000.

    • I can find 10 more or 10 less than any given three-digit number.

    • I can round numbers up and down to the nearest 10 and 100.

    • I can compare and order whole numbers up to 1000.

    • I can use strategies to generate addition and subtraction facts.

    • I can use number sentences to solve addition and subtraction problems.

    • I can estimate sums and differences up to 100.

    • I can use mental math to solve two-digit addition and subtraction problems.

    • I can solve two-digit addition and subtraction story problems.

    • I can read tables, bar graphs, and tally charts.

    • I can complete number patterns.

    • I can find the missing number in the number sentence.

    • I can describe and compare characteristics of two- and three-dimensional figures.

    • I can identify two- and three-dimensional figures.

    • I can understand the relationship between the size of the unit of measurement and the number of units needed to measure the length of an object.

    • I can tell time to the quarter-hour and distinguish between a.m. and p.m.

    • I can identify pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Can find the value of a group of coins and determine combinations of coins that equal a given amount.
